Flossie . . the little dancer

Flossie Loves to dance and to be funny and silly!
She comes totally alive and loses herself in the movement as she swishes in her tutu.

You wouldn't always know it if you meet her away from dancing and twirling.
She can also be so very shy and pensive.

She's pulled between the longing to perform . . to sparkle and shine and to lose herself in joyful movement . . and another deep inclination for quiet thoughtful stillness. To be in the space beyond words.

Sometimes she needs gentle reassurance that it's quite okay to be both things!

Flossie is around 42cm tall (16.5"). I have sculpted her head and face with needle felted wool and she is the first doll I have made in this way that I am offering for sale

.

She has peach skin, brown eyes, dark brown hair and a light sprinkle of freckles.
She wears a pink Nomesh hat in a blend of Rowan Kidsilk and Alpaca.
Her Snuggletti boots and cardi are made from the most beautiful angora/ merino yarn.
She also wears a fabulous tutu made with a lovely soft spotted Tulle and a white vest top.

If you would like to offer Flossie a place to dance and and be her own sweet self, she will be available to find her home on Tuesday the 1st March 2016 through Dollectable.

Corliss!

Corliss is ready to FLY!!!

It's been a long few months for she and I. Through the dark depths of the cold winter and thoughtful inner musings.
Now with the very first signs of spring, buds on the bushes, snowdrops and crocuses peeping through . . . we are both ready for new beginnings.

Corliss is a Doll who was offered to those on my wish list. She is looking forwards to meeting her new and amazingly patient Dolly Mama  ♥

. . . and, I'm looking forwards to introducing you all to a very special little cloth person who is starting to become.
I'll be updating my facebook page and instagram page very soon so keep an eye out :)

Martha

Let me introduce you to Martha. This wee one stands around 13.5" tall (without her hat)
She is made completely by hand using all natural materials,
cotton, sheepwool, Teeswater locks,

She wears a strappy sun dress with a cheerful Rowan print, A Luletti Gnomesh handknit hat, in pink Mohair, a little handknit cape in Rowan Kidclassic,
She also wears a pair of wee Alpaca boots.

All my doll heads start with needle felting and I use various sculpting techniques for shaping the faces. Martha has some additional detail to my 'classic' dolls, with the addition of a subtle little chin.

Her skin is 'pale' swiss tricot and her eyes are steel blue / grey. She has a light sprinkling of freckles.
Her hair is made using Teeswater locks which I have wefted and crocheted into a cap. They are clean natural undyed locks and so there is some variation of colour.
She has some light sculpting on her body, a tummy button, bottom and dimples on her elbows and knees. She can sit easily and unaided.

Martha is looking for her new home tonight.

POLA ~ a Luletti scarf pattern

I must confess that from the first time I came across this lace pattern I was rather taken.
It was some 12 years ago when I was meandering around New Zealand during a year of travel. In a small knitting shop (I can’t recall where) I came across a range of huge impressive multi shaded shawls all with a pretty pattern throughout. The shopkeeper told me the pattern this was fan and feather and I made a note.

It’s always been a bit of a questionable love as  I do find it can be a bit fussy . . it's not hard for old acrylic tea cosies and doilies to come to mind ;) . .  but its so nice to knit, so  satisfyingly symmetrical and then that lovely scalloped edge ;)

I wanted to offer the pattern for this little scarf for those who might like to find the fan and feather love for yourself. It's a perfect cosy fit for Luletti Rosehips and other similar sized dolls.

Although it might look intimidating (if your not a confidant knitter), I promise it’s not . . it’s actually very easy when you get the hang of it and i've made some videos of different stages and will add them as soon as I have an internet connection that doesn't crash every time I try to upload.

POLA scarf~ a dolly knitting pattern by Luletti

What you will need,
4ply yarn (I've used Debbie Bliss Rialto lace knitting 2 strands together)
3.5mm knitting needles, a single smaller needle 2.5 or 2.75) 2 stitch markers (my favourites are these pretty little treasures from Fripperies and Bibelots) and a wool needle for sewing in the ends.

abbreviations
k=knit, p=purl, psm=place stitch marker, kf&b, ssm=slip stitch marker

NOTE you will increase one stitch by knitting into the front and back of the second last stitch of every row(kf&b)

For a variation you can knit all stitches on rows 6, 10, 14 and 18 which will give a different texture.

24) Using a smaller needle to knit on to, (I use a 2.5 or 2.75mm) cast of with the extra stretch cast off ~here's a little tutorial I've made for those not familiar with this technique.

I find using a slightly smaller needle size to knit onto helps minimise the fluting that can be a problem with this cast off.

Please do feel free to share pictures of your scarves on the luletti facebook page or in the comments here. I always love to see and if your not a follower already do remember to follow my blog for more patterns and dolly loveliness :)

Aurelia's comment style listing :)

Aurelia is a OOAK Luletti handmade doll. She is a slim girl, standing around 16 inches tall. She has pale skin, blue eyes, and rosy red cheeks.

(Aurelia is the first doll made with my new pattern for smaller dolls. There are a few things I will tweak with proportions with this size doll in the future as it turned out that she wanted to be a little taller than planned)

Her hair is very soft white blonde mohair crocheted into a cap. This hair needs to be handled very gently and with care. The curls are inclined to felt together but you can gently separate and style each one by hand. I do not recommend brushing this hair.

Aurelia wears a pink spot tunic dress, Pink and green stripe leggings,  a grey seed stitch hand knit scarf, and a pair of green hand knit socks. And of course no self respecting doll can set sail for a new home without a pair of underpants :)

Aurelia has ears, elbow and knee dimples, a belly button and a sculpted posterior. She can sit easily and unaided.

Luletti dolls are made with a lot of love, many careful stitches and attention to detail. I use Swiss Tricot and lovely clean organic sheep wool and my own self drafted pattern. Features are hand embroidered and I use wool yarns and cotton prints for clothing. I also mostly design my own knitting and sewing patterns for the clothes.

PLEASE NOTE

Payment by Paypal is due in full within 2 hours of the listing ending.
